• Students moving on to 1st Grade: 41 %

• By June 2024, 65% of first and second grade students will advance four or more reading levels, as measured by HMH reading logs and the MClass reading assessment.

 

ELA Kindergarten

Reference 2023/2024

• Rising first graders: 65% (based on MOSL print concepts)

• By June 2025, 70% of kindergarten students will demonstrate proficiency in foundational reading skills by naming all uppercase and lowercase letter names and identifying 20 or more letter sounds as measured by foundational reading assessments.

 

ENL​

• By June 2025, English language learners will progress 1 to 2 levels in language proficiency based on the NYSESLAT.

Math

• By June 2025, students in grades K-2 will increase their academic achievement in mathematics by 3%, as measured by end-of-year assessments.

SEL

• By June 2025, students in grades K-2 will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the five areas of social-emotional competencies (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making) as measured by the SEL Social Cluster Assessments and the SEL Survey developed by P.S. 28. Students will maintain these five competencies to become healthy and productive members of society.

• By June 2025, the physical and mental well-being of all students will improve, as measured by a 10% decrease in the number of incidents from 5 incidents per month to 50% fewer, according to OORS reports..

PD

• By June 2025, all kindergarten through second grade teachers will participate in learning communities focused on content knowledge and pedagogy (how to connect and engage students in learning), as measured by 75% of kindergarten through second grade teachers demonstrating highly effective practice on components 1A, 3C, and 3D of the Danielson Teaching Practice Measure.​​

 

Attendance

• By June 2025, the rate of students at risk of chronic absence will decrease a total of 5%, from 15% to 10%, as measured by attendance reports and information tracking data.
